RDKB: More funding needed for victim services

It’s time for the provincial government to return to being an equal partner in funding victim services in local communities.

This from the CAO of the Regional District Of Kootenay Boundary, John MacLean.

He’s speaking to a resolution at last week’s Union Of BC Municipalities Convention which calls on the province to keep their end of the deal.

MacLean says cost of living and other expenses keep going up for the RCMP-run service that helps victims of crime.

In greater Trail the province contributed only 42% of the $112,000 budget last year and local taxpayers keep picking up the difference.
