Food growers, producers and distributors in the Slocan Valley are among the recipients of big money from the Columbia Basin Trust.
The Slocan Valley Economic Development Commission has announced that much of the $250,000 over the next to years will go to two groups.
And Chair Leah Main says the West Kootenay Permaculture Co-op in the south valley and Healthy Community Society in the north have signed a deal to work together not in competition.
The rest of the funding went to the Seniors Housing Society and to WE Graham Community Services for a youth/community bus.
