The Kootenay Rhythm Dragons are hoping to build a dock and clubhouse at the Cottonwood Creek bay in Nelson.
Mary Walters says they want to partner with the city and regional district to develop the facility.
Walters says they want to add more teams but can’t do it from their current home on private property.
They’d also like to host dragon boat races.

The land they’re eyeing has been proposed for a park.
The Rhythm Dragons have 84 members ranging in age from late 30s to late 80s.
