The Nelson Community Band will celebrate its 120th birthday with a mass concert this spring.
The band played for city council this week and member Rob Thompson explained their plans
The concert will be June 4 at Lakeside Park following a day and a half of rehearsals.
The other bands are coming from Kimberley, Revelstoke, Creston, Crawford Bay, and the Slocan Valley.

The Nelson band has about 25 people ranging in age from 12 to over 80.
Member Mary Defeo says they have a variety of skills and backgrounds but come together to make music.
