Strong turnout expected for Coldest Night

Nelson appears to be on its way to a strong turnout in the third annual Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser.

It’s a family-friendly walk that raises money for the Nelson CARES Society’s Room to Live campaign.

Organizer Lisa McGeady says 235 walkers have already collected more than $25,000.

McGeady says they’re getting help from Selkirk College nursing students.

The event goes Saturday with registration at Central school starting at 4 p.m. and the walk itself around 5:15.
