The Columbia Basin Trust will help pay for a new playground at South Nelson elementary school.
They’ll provide $33,000 for the project. That won’t pay the full cost, but parents and the school district will pick up the rest.
Marya Skrypiczajko with the parent advisory committee says the idea is to create an outdoor classroom and natural play area.
They’re hoping it’ll be ready by early fall.
It’ll be built in the school’s upper field where is no playground right now.
