Traffic flow under review for Hall Street project

It’s not clear yet how traffic will flow to and from Nelson’s Lakeside Drive during the next phase of the Hall Street project, but one business owner wants two-way traffic maintained at all times.

Randy Horswill of Home Hardware says he’d rather see longer work days than reduced access.

Horswill suggests it could be written into the contract.

The city is still figuring out what will work best, but public works director Colin Innes says it’ll likely involve a temporary railway crossing.

Innes says they know the project could have a big impact on businesses in the area, so they’re trying to maintain access both for vehicles and pedestrians.

Work is expected to start this summer.
