The administration office and warehouse at Fortis BC’s South Slocan site will be coming down.
Spokeswoman Nicole Bogdanovic says there was a lot of interest from the community to preserve the buildings.
But maintaining and preserving them would have been too expensive.
The buildings will be vacated this fall when Fortis opens its new Kootenay Operations Centre in Ootischenia.
Bogdanovic says they’ll explore options to safely remove and dispose of the buildings.
