A local woman attended the climate reality leadership training in Bellevue, Washington recently.
It was led by former US vice president Al Gore and had 800 people from 26 countries.
Glade resident Laura Sacks says despite the gravity of the subject people were actually upbeat.
Sacks says the training addressed climate science as well as effective communication techniques.
She hopes to help speed up the West Kootenay’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
