Grand Forks park set for Cannafest power boost

Grand Forks City council looks set approve electrical upgrades to James Donaldson Park.

The organizers of Cannafest want poles and transformers installed for this year’s music festival.

Councillor Chris Hammett says the upgrades are not only needed, but could help long term with other offerings at James Donaldson.

The total cost of the project will be $36,000 but the BC Pain Society – which runs Cannafest – will pay for most of it.

The city will receive a $9,000 donation from them each year for the next three years.

Cannafest happens August 5th and 6th.
