Some high-profile trees in Nelson have been removed prompting concern from at least one local who contacted us.
The mature trees were in front of the Prestige Inn hotel on Front Street near the intersection to the mall.
GM Wendy Lebleu says the trees were getting sicker and older and were obscuring their signage so patrons couldn’t see their parking lot.
The trees were also breaking the concrete planters they were in.

Lebleu says they plan to replace them with something else.
