A silt curtain will installed in a section of Nelson’s foreshore starting in about a week.
It’s the first step in the next phase of the Hall Street project and has to be done within a certain window to preserve fish habitat.
But public works director Colin Innes says the rest of the work won’t begin until September.
Stairs and terraces will be built along the water near the Prestige Resort.
Other aspects of the project will continue next spring and summer.
