The City of Nelson will inspect about 300 buildings to assess the threat of contaminants to the water system.
They’re looking for cross-connections to make sure backflow prevention devices are in place.
Municipal services manager Chris Gainham says they’ll focus on industrial, commercial, and institutional buildings.
And if the buildings don’t have the devices?
Affected building owners will be getting letters.
