Nelson hosts conference on rural economies

A conference begins in Nelson on Wednesday aimed at helping rural economies through innovation and entrepreneurship.

It’s put on by the Canadian Rural Revitalization Foundation and it’s entitled Different by Design.

Selkirk College’s Dr. Sarah Breen is the president of the organization and chair of the planning committee.

About 175 delegates are taking part through Saturday, all of whom come from rural areas.

There’s a free panel discussion at the Capitol Theatre at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sign up by going to kootenays2017.crrf.ca.
