The Village of Salmo has been formally recognized by the provincial government as an age-friendly community.
Administrator Diane Kalen-Sukra says it acknowledges steps they took to engage seniors in a planning process.
It resulted in 16 priorities that have now been carried out including the creation of a seniors webpage.
The village received $1,000 to put toward further age-friendly projects.
