There’s been no luck so far in the search for two new doctors to work at Slocan community health centre in New Denver.
But Colin Moss, who chairs the local committee spearheading the recruitment effort, remains optimistic.
He says they’re encouraging more physicians to try working there temporarily.
Moss says they have to be proactive because many communities are in the same situation.

New Denver is down to one physician and a nurse practitioner after another doctor moved to Nelson in September.
Moss says they’re working closely with Interior Health and developing a promotional video to showcase the area to potential doctors.
