As one new waste transfer station opens another three are in the works for the RDCK.
So says Rural Director and Chair of the Regional Resource Recovery Committee Ron Mickel.
He says the’re going to use a similar model elsewhere to the one they have at Grohman Narrows.
Mickel says the waste recovery technology sees the amount of garbage truck trips slashed by as much as 80%.
The new site at Grohman Narrows opens to the public Tuesday and brings to an end the operations at Nelson’s Lakeside.
