City hosting open house on cannabis regulations

The City of Nelson is hosting an open house on Tuesday, May 1 to gather more feedback around cannabis regulations. It’s a drop in format at the Adventure Hotel between 4:30 and 6:30pm. Alex Thumm with Development Services says there’s a few areas they want more input on.

Thumm says another issue they’re looking for further input on is where public consumption should be allowed.

In the feedback results, 62 per cent of respondents felt public consumption rules should follow the Clean Air Bylaw which would allow for smoking in a few places downtown.  But 59 per cent also felt strongly that smoking and vaping cannabis should be banned in all public places.

All the results from the public consultation process will also be available at the event.
