A prescribed burn is planned for the Hope Creek area. The South East Fire Centre says it could start at early as today, but that depends on weather and site conditions. The burn site is about 30 kilometers north of Meadow Creek – smoke will be visible from Highway 31 between Poplar Creek and Trout Lake. The goal of the burn is to reduce dead and combustible materials and decrease risk of wildfire.
