The RCMP and BC Coroner’s Service have determined remains found in the Beasley road area on Tuesday, May 8 to be human. The deceased and the cause of death will not be established until a forensic autopsy is completed. This death will be treated as suspicious until a forensic pathologist can confirm the cause of death. A date for the autopsy has not yet been scheduled.

The RCMP Southeast District Major Crimes Unit and Nelson RCMP are investigating the discovery of possible human remains found in the Beasley area. Sergeant. Janelle Shoihet say they were found yesterday.
RCMP are saying there’s no danger to the public at this point. The Eastern entrance to Beasley Road is closed, but residents can use the Western entrance.
