Two schools in the Slocan Valley received funding for new playgrounds yesterday. WE Graham Community School in Slocan and Lucerne Elementary Secondary in New Denver both received $90,000 from the Province. Kim Morris is the Secretary Treasurer for the Kootenay Lake School District and says an upgrade is greatly needed.
Morris says it’s lucky to receive this type of provincial funding.
Morris says it’s still in the early stages and she doesn’t know whether the Parent Advisory Committee has a concept idea or if additional funding will be needed.
