Redfish Elementary School to offer grade six and seven again

Some North Shore parents received good news this week. The Kootenay Lake School District Board of Directors have decided to let grade six and sevens stay at Redfish Elementary School, starting next year. Raeanne Gow is the head of the Parent Advisory Committee and has kids at the school. She was very happy about the decision.

Gow says there’s enough room for the additional students.

After grade five, Redfish students currently have to attend Trafalgar Middle School in Nelson which is over an hour away for families in the Procter area.

The School Board will also look at offering grade eight in the future.
