The Blewett Fire Department hosted an open house this weekend. Chief Denis Lavoie says it was a great day to show off the new engine, which is replacing their old one from 1991.
He says they’re also looking for volunteers for anyone interested.
Volunteer Fire Fighters in the Regional District of Central Kootenay are now paid $14 an hour for training and other services.
