Nelson Fire and Rescue Services responded after a vehicle rolled down an embankment on Svoboda Road Wednesday. They say initial reports came in around 6:20pm from witnesses. Fire Crews, Ambulance and RCMP were able to respond directly to the site, about one kilometer east, along the recreation trail. Western Auto Wreckers also performed the difficult vehicle recovery after fire crews assessed the stability and possible hazards, such as a fuel leak.
The male was transported to Kootenay Lake hospital. His vehicle rolled roughly 70 meters from the road, but he was able to self extract and didn’t have any immediately threatening injuries.
