A local group is confident they will be able to get a key local section of the Trans Canada Trail ready in time for the grand opening in 2017.
Doug Clark with the Castlegar Friends of Parks and Trails Society says they’re working with the Kootenay Columbia Trails Society on the Castlegar-to-Trail section.
Clark says the very scenic but rugged route needs some slope stabilization and several creek crossings.
Teck has donated a million dollars to work on the trails throughout the Kootenays.
