As we await council’s decision on the waterfront Nelson Landing development a local group wants Red Sands Beach to remain “clothing optional.”
The beach would eventually be dedicated by the property owner to the city as a community park.
Herb Couch is President of the Red Sands Beach Society and wants it to remain a natural environment …in every sense of the word.
Last week’s public hearing heard how Nelson has a certain sub-culture that needs to be maintained and Red Sands can rival Vancouver’s well-known clothing optional Wreck Beach.
