Helicopter used as search continues

The search for a missing rural Nelson man took to the skies Monday but there was still no sign of him.

A commercial helicopter was used to assist in the hunt for 42 year old Joe Moyer who walked away from the family home on Blewett Road Saturday morning.

He had his pet black labrador with him and he’s believed to have mental health issues.

Crews on the ground have covered a lot of terrain around his home but there’s no clue to his whereabouts.

Speaking later on Monday RCMP Inspector Tom Roy said the search effort would continue.

They were hoping to get an RCMP chopper in the air Tuesday.
