Mentally disturbed man re-arrested in Nelson

The young man who escaped from a regional mental health facility earlier this month is back in Nelson Police custody.

18 year old Alexis Grenier hopped a 10 foot fence at the Daly Pavilion in Trail two weekends ago before being apprehended by officers in Nelson and sent back to the facility.

RCMP previously said Grenier was delusional and having homicidal hallucinations.

Police says there is currently no risk to the public.

Police could not confirm reports from the public that Grenier had been at the 711 gas station in Nelson threatening people with a knife.
