Nelson Civic Theatre Society submits revised grant proposal

The Nelson Civic Theatre Society remains positive after getting their hastily re-worked proposal in for the new federal Canada 150 grant program.

President Marilyn Mint says the revised $1.3 million plan is for upgrades to the whole Civic Centre.

That will allow the society to save time and money on getting their second and third movie house done.

The city will apply for $500,000 and if successful will add nearly $600,000

Another $250,000 would potentially come from the Columbia Basin Trust.

An initial multi-million-dollar plan including a new concourse was rejected by council.

Puck drop date set for KIJHL season
