Salmo mayor surprised by council resignations

The mayor of Salmo says he did not see it coming and does not know why it has happened.

Stephen white is speaking to the sudden resignations by councillors Cathy Paton and Ken Anderson.

We asked if he had any idea what prompted the move.

White says the two councillors did not speak to him about their resignations.

He says it’s a loss for the community because Paton and Anderson were instrumental in helping Salmo turn the corner on financial matters.

So far neither Paton nor Anderson have returned messages for comment.
