Name that bridge: Trail seeks ideas

Residents of Trail voted in support of the $9.8 million pedestrian pipe bridge and now they will have a chance to name it.

The City will ask the public to participate in the process of providing an official title for the structure that will cross the Columbia River.

Communication and Events Co-ordinator Andrea Jolly says they’ve put a list of criteria together for suggestions.

Jolly says a call for names will be made when construction starts on the crossing in September.

79% of the electorate voted “yes” in last year’s referendum asking if the City should use federal gas tax revenue to pay for their share of the bridge.
