It’s looking rough at the moment but the major Hall Street renovation in Nelson will be beaming once it’s done.
In part that’ll be thanks to a whole new custom-ordered lighting theme.
Senior Planner Megan Squires says they worked with the design consultant to create a special look.
The metal work and wood lighting standards will be very different to the heritage globe fixtures on Baker Street. They will also have special connections allowing for other lights to be strung from one pole to another.
The lights will also complement iron work railings and tree grates that will be part of the industrial look.
The city has budgeted $250,000 for all furnishings associated with the project.
