Interior Health says it is committed to keeping the Broader Horizons seniors day care facility in Nelson going.
This with news it will close July and August because IH has been unable to fill two vacancies for care-aid workers with a class 4 driver’s licence.
The facility takes seniors in need of day on trips and offers them important social interaction.
Local IH Administrator Cheryl Whittleton says the program helps keep the 40 clients out of long-term care and they will continue to actively recruit.
That includes liaising with Selkirk College’s care-aid program.
