Call for water conservation awareness in Grand Forks

City staff are advising sprinkler use only twice a week – as opposed to the current alternating days- because of the very dry conditions and low river level.

But council is divided.

We asked Manager of Operations David Reid if the move to tougher restrictions was imminent?

It’s not clear when and if the tougher measures will be ordered and he says council is being kept informed about the water supply.

Winton says there needs to be more community awareness that green lawns are a first world issue.
