Local June temperature records

It was a sweltering 41 C in Grand Forks Sunday.

Environment Canada has confirmed some stats from our record-breaking hot final weekend of June.

The new maximum for Grand Forks broke a record from June 28th 1932.

Saturday’s peak of 39.9 C broke a June 27th record from 1925.

Castlegar also broke June records with peaks of 39.7 C and 38.3 C over the weekend.

Nelson got up to 37.8 C Saturday , so not quite the 40 degrees that was predicted.
