City crews have fanned out across Nelson to deal with the aftermath of Monday’s short but severe storm.
There are uprooted and downed trees all over the Queen City, although Lakeside Park -which is closed – has been hit hard.
Parks Manager Karen McDonald says it’s not only public spaces but private properties that need tree removal.
City Manager Kevin Cormack says while the storm ripped up trees the fact that no injuries have been reported in parks speaks to the safety trimming they’ve done in the past.
