Nelson Hydro down to last 300 outages

Nelson Hydro has provided an update Tuesday afternoon following Monday’s storm.

There are about 300 Nelson Hydro customers still without power. The Green road and Proctor East areas have extensive damage. Currently there is still power off in these areas;

South Shore

  • Carlson Road,
  • Grohman,
  • Upper Sproule Creek Rd.

City

  • Observatory and Hoover St area

North Shore

  • Green Road
  • RDCK transfer station
  • Proctor – Harrop

Nelson Hydro and contractor crews are working on these remaining areas and will be through the night and into Canada Day. We expect power to be restored to all customers before end of day July 01. The line crews are taking rest and meal breaks to ensure safety of working conditions.

For customers still without power;

  • We expect most will have power restored tonight. If you still do not have power upon waking in the morning of July 01 please call our outage line at 1 877 324-9376 and let the operator know of your physical location. It can happen that crews restore power to an area but one or two houses remain off because of a separate issue that we are not aware of.
  • Again beware of and provide plenty of clearance around downed power lines – always respect them as energized.
