The new village council at Salmo is forming a relationship with the organisers of the Shambhala Music Festival.
This from mayor Stephen White who says it’s “ridiculous” for the village not to embrace such a successful event that brings so many people to the area.
We asked him if there could be opportunities to piggy-back on the huge crowds before or after the annual event ?
White says the spirit of co-operation includes work on emergency preparedness and getting Salmo mentioned in the event’s marketing.
Also local residents are being taken on bus tours to check out the amazing set up at the private farm property.
