Hall St project reaches hill top

Crews are now tackling a key element of Nelson’s Hall Street corridor upgrade.

They’re in the middle of the Hall and Vernon St intersection installing new deep utility pipes.

The road is also being shaved down by around 3-feet to reduce the profile of the hill.

Public Works Director Colin Innes says the design means there will be no sudden grade changes for motorists or pedestrians.

The intersection will be partially re-opened by mid next week at the latest.

Crews will then work on the portion between Lake and Vernon Streets.
