Wildfire area under Access Restriction Order

The BC Wildfire Service does not want to be worrying about sightseers near the Sitkum-Duhamel wildfire.

That’s why a Restriction Order has been put in place around the blaze.

That means the public can not come up the forest service roads, be inside the creek areas or above the private properties.

Fire Information Officer Noelle Kekula says security will be in place.

Progress continues to be made on containment lines but it’s still too early to say when the evacuation alert for 350 homes may be lifted.
