The Nelson Police Department is releasing some more info about that serious attack in Rosemont Wednesday afternoon.
A 48 year old man was arrested for attacking a 54 year old woman with an edged weapon on West Innes Street at about 2 pm.
She was pushing her grandson in a stroller.
Initially it was reported both people had been injured and involved in a hit and run but this turned out not to be true.

Detective Constable David Laing says it’s believed the assailant is not known to the victim.
The woman was seriously hurt and left unconscious and bleeding in the middle of the road.
The man is in custody. NPD is working with the courts and Nelson Mental Health on this matter.
