Hopes for surge in CGR Dr recruits

With a pair of new doctors on their way to Castlegar, recruiters are hopeful they’ll be able to land two more to fulfil their physician mandate.

One doctor is expected to start in the middle of next month and the other one should be practicing in the community by the beginning of September.

Interior Health’s Cheryl Whittleton says they are optimistic the two new recruits will help attract more doctors.

In April Castlegar’s independently hired doctor recruiter said they had 23 physicians at a Conference in Montreal show interest in taking locum positions in the community.
