A large chunk of Rossland’s planned Washington Street upgrade will be covered by the Small Communities Fund.
The feds and province have announced $2.2 million towards the new water main.
Mayor Kathy Moore says that’s about 40% of the entire $5.8 million job which has some special aspects.
Washington is Rossland’s second most important street and the project will feature new water, sewer and side walks. Some of the decaying infrastructure is a hundred years old .
