NDCC reno management contract awarded

The RDCK board has approved the hiring of a company that will bring all the pieces together for the Nelson Aquatic Centre renovation.

Unitech Management will find the contractors to handle the various elements of the near $5 million job.

Manager of Community Services Joe Chirico says once the scope of work is finalised they’ll proceed quickly.

The aquatic centre will need to be closed for eight months but the long-term benefits will be worth it.

It’s not yet clear when work will be ready to start.
