Director turns to fed MP for Johnsons Landing help

A local rural director is now appealing to our region’s federal rep to help fund a secure water source to those affected by the 2012 Johnsons Landing landslide.

Aimee Watson recently showed conservative MP David Wilks around the “high hazard zone” where the water pipes to the creek once were.

She’s asked him if there’s anything he can do?

She says Wilks is going to look into matters.

Eleven homeowners do not have the $200,000 still needed to connect to a safe source 1,600 metres above Gar Creek.

Numerous attempts to get funding from the province have failed.
