MP joins safe water access fight

A federal local politician is hoping to help a group of Johnson’s Landing residents still in need of a safe water source.

Following a recent tour of the area, Kootenay-Columbia conservative MP David Wilks says he is taking the issue to Ottawa.

The fatal 2012 landslide in Johnson’s Landing left 11 residents without safe access to water and it will cost $200 000 to rectify.

To date, the province has been unable to come up with the funding.
