Unique artisan concept for Nelson area

Nelson hopes to join a number of other Canadian communities in creating an Economusee.

Also known as a living museum, an Economusee is a venue that showcases local artisans who’s work conserves traditional skills.

Cultural Development Officer Joy Barrett, explains what makes these offerings different.

Barrett adds a municipal model is under consideration, which would allow people to visit one main venue and tour the artisans’ work studios and farms.
