Castlegar road paving underway

The latest part of a three-year re-paving project in Castlegar is underway.

The Woodland Park area around 18th street and Silverwood as well as 4th and 5th Avenues downtown are being fixed up.

Director of Public Works Chris Barlow says crews are grinding away the old asphalt this week with the new surface going down after the holiday weekend.

There will be some storm drainage improvements on some of the sections as well.

The project is part of about $1 million in paving upgrades in Castlegar over the last three years.
