Work on the first phase of improved parking at Crescent Valley Beach in the Slocan Valley has now started.
The RDCK says the Ministry of Transportation, Roads Maintenance and Paving contractors will be doing the upgrades in the next week and the closure to parking will last until August 12th.
This first phase will see 14 paved parking spaces and a drop-off area created.
Phase 2 will come later and feature 45 spots and two lots for RV’s.

The contractors are already nearby with their Highway 6 upgrades.
Yellowhead Road and Bridge and Selkirk Paving are donating a large portion of their services for these important safety upgrades.
