July dry but as hot as last year

Last month produced only half the normal amount of rainfall for a typical July.

The South East Fire Centre Weather Office says we saw just 23.9 millimetres of rain …we normally get around 48 millimetres.

Much of that fell over the weekend of the 25th and 26th.

While the hot,dry summer continues last month was actually very similar to July 2014.

We had average temperatures around 2.5 C warmer than typical and the maximum daily temperature was 38.8 C …the same as last year.
